First Visit
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children see a dentist no later than their first birthday! This first visit enables Dr. Bird and Dr. Yang to evaluate your child’s teeth and discuss proper oral hygiene, diet, fluoride, tooth eruption, and finger or pacifier habits with you. By following this guideline, you and your child will establish a Dental Home with Dr. Bird, Dr. Yang and our team so you can feel comfortable seeking routine and/or emergency dental care at Bird Pediatric Dentistry as your child ages. Starting dental appointments early will help prevent problems in the future and will help to ensure a positive attitude towards dental care!
Even if you are past that stage and well into the toddler or teenage years, it’s never too late to start your children on a healthy path.
Infant Care
Your baby’s first visit to the dentist is all about education and prevention. We will do a knee-to-knee exam focusing attention on tongue or lip ties in the mouth that could be causing difficulty with nursing or feeding. We provide advice on releasing restricted tissues, discuss pacifier or thumb habits, and educate you on home care. Our team will provide you and your baby all the necessary tools to ensure a healthy smile for years to come.
Toddler Care
For preschoolers we make sure they view dentistry as fun and routine, rather than scary and burdensome. We focus on counting the teeth, checking their bite and educating you on home care.
School Aged & Teen Care
A healthy smile is especially important to maintain high self esteem in children ages 6-18. From their very first visit, we’ll take steps to achieve their best smile, growth, and airway health to help them FLY in life!
